“Stories have one thing in common: they strike and capture our attention when they tell something unexpected. It is always the facts that matter and they are therefore the engine and the center of the narration, small and large episodes that have happened to each of us, that have been told to us, or invented from scratch. Events that force the different characters to deal with their talents, their defects and to get involved”.

This is the reason for the Energheia International Writing Course, promoted by the Matera association, which sees the involvement of the Embassy of Spain in Italy and the University of Basilicata, DICEM of Matera, open to young writers.

The workshop – free and for a maximum of 30 people – includes a theoretical part with readings and insights, and a practical part with exercises. At the end of the course, the participants will produce a short story, born during the workshop, which will be collected in a digital anthology. How to join the writing course: They can join:

• People aged 18 to 35 age
• Good knowledge of english used in the course
• Attendance will be mandatory

After a few days it will be published on the website: www.energheia.org those admitted to the course.

For matters not covered by these regulations, the decisions taken at the sole discretion of the Organizers will be applied.
