Thunder
If it had not been for the growling of thunder, I would have stayed in bed until a flutter of light crawled through the wooden doors. I would have had a quiet morning, waking up slowly to the rustle of leaves, the slow ruminating of farm animals, and tree branches yawning with the first breeze. Yet there I was, standing feverish, soaked in sweat, as I faced the threatening clouds lowering ominously on me. I wanted to run away, hid myself like I would do when my father yelled, lashing his leather belt against the air. But a squalid force pulled me outwards to the balcony. All stood still but that heavy shrugged sky, grinning at my own shivering knees and half-muted cry. The wind bashed me into the ground. I was not hurt, or if I was the fear did not let me feel it. Then it fell. It all fell. And I came down with it.
Only then I realized the consequences of my actions.
