Short stories contest

Our Short Story Contest – launched in early march 2013 – came to a successful close. The winning published stories for 2013 edition (in assessment order) are:

1° Resurrection by Rima Abdelfattah;

2° Una giornata con lo scrittore M. Corona by Marco Fornasaris.

 

Under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Beirut and of the Region Basilicata, Dante Alighieri Society and the Cultural Association Energheia of Matera (ITALY), in collaboration with Institut Français of Tripoli, Safadi Foundation and British Council, announce the literary contest “Prix Energheia Liban – Edition 2014”

1. Writers can participate to the contest with just one unpublished short story, written in Italian, English or French language, on a freely chosen subject, no longer than seven pages (25 lines per page).

2. The story must be sent or handed before June 15th 2014 in two typed copy and/or in a soft copy on Microsoft Word format, not signed, together with a letter containing the author’s name, age and address (telephone number and e-mail) to the following address:

3. A committee, appointed by the organizers of the contest, will read and evaluate the stories in order to indicate the best five to be submitted to the Italian Jury for final judgement.

4. Prix Energheia Liban has the unrestricted right to publish and reproduce the winning stories (including runners up), in the original language and in translation.

5. It’s up to the organizers of the contest to decide about anything which is not included in the present regulations.

 

Comics contest

 

Under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Beirut and of the Region Basilicata, Dante Alighieri Society and the Cultural Association Energheia of Matera (ITALY), in collaboration with Institut Français of Tripoli, Safadi Foundation and British Council, announce the contest “Prix Energheia Liban – Edition 2014” – Comics Section.

1. All young cartoonists can submit an unpublished comics, on free subject, in Italian, English or French language. Comics submissions must be not more than 10 pages, using any kind of manual technique,  both color and black-and-white pages will be accepted. Entries must be sent or handed together with a letter containing the author’s name, age and address (telephone number and e-mail) to the following address:

2. A panel of comics experts chosen by the promoters of the contest, will evaluate the artworks in order to choose the best three to be submitted to the Italian Jury for final judgement.

3. The jury will select the winner of comics contest. The winning entry and the two second prize winners will be published. Prix Energheia Liban has the unrestricted right to publish and reproduce the winning stories (including runners up).  It’s up to the organizers of the contest to decide about anything which is not included in the present regulations. The subjects and the comics, whether published or not by the Association shall remain exclusive property of the authors.

 

Writers and cartoonists must be not less than 16 years old. The closing date for entries is June 15th 2014. The Jury will declare the winning story and comics. The author awarded the first prize will have plane ticket and accomodation expenses paid in order to take part to the final ceremony that will be held in Matera (Italy), in September 2014.
